Ingredients

1.30 kg chuck steak or silverside (or similar)
- ⅓ cup flour
- 1 ½ tbsp salt
- ½ tbsp pepper
- 2 tbsp oil

1 cup red onion chopped

1 celery stalk chopped

1 carrot chopped
-
3 cloves garlic cut finely
- 800 g canned tomatoes
- 2 cups red wine
- 1 tbsp sage

1 tbsp parsley chopped

1 bay leaf
Directions
What are we cooking today?
Stew or Casserole, whatever you choose to call it, this Slow Cooked Beef is simple, aromatic and full of goodness.
Getting started
- In a small bowl, mix flour, 1 tbs salt and pepper and then rub all over the beef.
Add the oil to shallow saucepan and heat.
Brown the beef on all sides and then add to slow cooker.
Add onions, celery, carrot, garlic, canned tomatoes, red wine, parsley, sage, bay leaf, and 1/2 tbsp salt.
Put on the lid and slow cook on low for 8 hours.
Break apart and add to serving dish. Top with sauce and vegetable stew.
Top with parsley.
