This easy homemade tartar sauce is better than anything you can buy at the store. It’s extra creamy and perfect for serving next to your favourite seafood dishes.

 ½ cup Greek yoghurt
 1 tsp Dijon mustard
 1 pinch pink Himalayan saltor sea salt
 1 pinch ground black pepper
 1 pinch dried dill
 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional
 1 tbsp dill pickles, very finely diced
 1 tbsp capers, finely diced

Tartar Sauce makes every seafood taste just that little bit better. And, home made Tartar is so simple to make yet just so much better than store bought.

Getting started

In a small bowl, with a small spatula, mix the yogurt with the mustard, salt, pepper, dill and cayenne if using.

Fold in the pickles and capers.

Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes, to allow flavours to meld.

Give it another stir before serving.

Homemade Tartar Sauce keeps well, though not as long as a commercial sauce. You can keep it in the fridge, in an airtight container, for up to 7 days. Just make sure you give it another stir before serving.
