Sautéed Mushrooms

These mushrooms are the quintessential topping for all types of steak, or as a side, on baked potatoes or even as a salad. So versatile!

 1 lb white or brown mushrooms
 2 tbsp butter
 2 tbsp olive oil
 1 sprig of fresh thyme
 2 cloves garlic minced

Getting started

Clean mushrooms by wiping with a paper towel.

Cut into slices, around 1/2 -inch in thickness.

In a large pan, heat the olive oil on medium heat.

Add the mushrooms to the pan and toss with the olive oil. Then, leave the mushrooms to brown on one side without stirring for 4-5 minutes.

Add garlic and thyme. Continue cooking an additional 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally until cooked.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
